Fund Description
The fund was incepted in September 1990 and is managed by Calamos Asset Management, Inc. The fund seeks high current income consistent with stability of principal. The fund invests mainly in convertible securities and employs short selling to enhance income and hedge against market risk. These convertible securities may be either debt securities or preferred stocks that can be exchanged for common stock. The fund may invest without limit in high yield fixed-income securities (often referred to as ''junk bonds''). Dividends are declared and paid quarterly. Capital gains, if any, are distributed annually.
