Fund Description
The fund was incepted in April 1977 and is managed by the Fidelity Group. The main objective of this fund is to seek a high level of current income exempt from federal income tax, as is consistent with the preservation of capital. This fund normally invests at least 80% of the fund's assets in investment-grade (those of medium and high quality) municipal securities whose interest is exempt from federal income tax. The fund is managed to have similar overall interest rate risk to the Lehman Brothers 1-17 Year Municipal Bond Index. The fund offers a monthly dividend. Capital gains, if any, are distributed in February and December.
