Fund Description
Incepted in January 1956, the fund is managed by Troika Dialog Asset Management and Van Eck Associates Corporation. The fund seeks long-term capital appreciation by investing in common stocks of gold mining companies. The fund may take current income into consideration in picking investments. Under normal conditions, the fund invests at least 80% of total assets in the gold mining industry, with at least 25% of assets invested in gold mining stocks (companies with greater than 50% of revenues from gold mining). The fund may invest up to 100% of its assets, or, for temporary defensive purposes, less than 25% of its assets in gold stocks. The fund declares and pays dividends in March, June, September and December. Capital gains, if any, are distributed in annually in December.
