Fund Description
The fund was incepted in July 2002 and is managed by Columbia Management Advisors, Inc. The fund seeks a high level of total return consisting of current income exempt from ordinary federal income tax and opportunities for capital appreciation. The fund invests at least 80% of its net assets (plus any borrowings for investment purposes) in relatively high-yielding securities. These generally are medium or lower-rated securities or unrated securities of comparable quality, but may also include other securities that have the potential for high yield, such as inverse floating rate obligations. The fund may invest up to 20% of its total assets in high quality taxable money market instruments. Dividends are paid monthly. Capital gains, if any, are paid annually.
