Fund Description
Incepted in December 1997, Payden & Rygel serves as the investment adviser to the fund. The fund seeks high current income while providing for capital appreciation by investing primarily in a diversified portfolio of below investment grade bonds, commonly known as ''high yield bonds'' or ''junk bonds.'' The fund invests in a diversified portfolio of higher-yielding corporate bonds, which generally yield an average of four percent to six percent over comparable maturity U.S. treasuries. The fund does not invest in the riskier quasi-equity segments of the high-yield bond market, but focuses on the upper and middle-credit quality tiers. The average maturity of the bonds in the portfolio is seven to eight years. The fund declares and distributes dividends to shareholders monthly. The fund distributes any net realized capital gains from the sale of portfolio securities at least once yearly.
