Fund Description
The fund was incepted in August 1999 and is managed by USAA Investment Management Company. The fund seeks to provide an attractive total return primarily through high current income and secondarily through capital appreciation. The fund invests at least 80% of its assets in high-yield securities, including bonds (often referred to as 'junk' bonds), convertible securities, or preferred stocks. The fund may invest the remainder of its assets in equity securities, defaulted securities, non-dollar-denominated foreign securities, trade claims, and certain derivatives, such as futures and options. The fund pays its dividends monthly. Capital gains are paid in December of each year.
