Technology Stocks to Watch This Earnings Season: MSFT, P, EBAY
Read MoreHide Full Article
Is now the time for tech?
We take a look at three important tech companies that are reporting this week in the latest earnings preview video, including eBay (EBAY - Free Report) , Pandora and Microsoft (MSFT - Free Report) .
Which of these are poised to breakout and which will fall by the wayside in the days ahead? Well, let’s take a closer look at each of these in a bit more detail to get some clues.
This giant reports first of the group and it may actually be looking the least favorable from an earnings perspective. Not only does it have a Zacks Rank #3 (hold) but its fundamentals produce a VGM score of just ‘D’, while it has a negative Earnings ESP too. And considering the company just came off an earnings miss last quarter, this could be a dicey report for MSFT investors.
Pandora is kind of an interesting case, as shares were beaten to a pulp thanks to heavy competition before coming back a bit recently on buyout rumors. These rumors look to drive the stock forward, but until then, earnings will be key. Fortunately for P investors, the stock was just upgraded to a Zacks Rank #3 (hold) getting it out of ‘sell’ territory just in time.
Despite concerns over the company’s business model in the long term, eBay has actually been the better investment when compared to PayPal as of late. The company may actually be able to continue this streak when it reports later this week thanks to its Zacks Rank #2 (buy) and fundamental score that is slightly better than the others on this list.
