This Week's Hidden Gems: (HDSN)(JBT)
Great investing opportunities exist everywhere in the stock market. But how do you find them?
Tracey Ryniec, Stock Strategist at Zacks Investment Research, discusses two hidden gems that might be worth a closer look at by investors: Hudson Technologies (HDSN - Free Report) and JBT Corporation (JBT - Free Report) .
Hidden gems are stocks that are followed only by a handful of Wall Street analysts and which the rest of the stock market doesn’t pay much attention to but they should because their fundamentals are strong.
Hudson specializes in refrigerants, including sales and reclamation services. It saw record revenue in the second quarter, up 21%, as the price of R-22 rose.
Before the close of the quarter, however, Hudson was awarded a 5 year contract by the US Defense Logistics Agency with an estimated value of $400 million in sales. The company has a market cap of just $213 million so this is a big deal.
JBT Corporation is a mid-cap company that makes food processing and aviation systems, including the famous Jetway passenger boarding systems used at airports around the globe.
Its backlog at the end of the second quarter had jumped 36% to $580 million.
But what else should investors take away from these two companies? Watch our short video to learn more about these hidden gems.
