IHS Markit (INFO) Q3 Earnings & Revenues Top Estimates

IHS Markit Ltd. reported third-quarter 2018 results, (ended Aug 31, 2018) adjusted earnings per share of 58 cents beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 55 cents. Earnings increased 2% on a year-over-year basis.

How Was the Estimate Revision Trend?

Investors should note that the Zacks Consensus Estimate for third-quarter fiscal 2018 earnings remained unchanged over the last 30 days.

The company also has an impressive earnings history having outperformed the Zacks Consensus Estimate in three of the last four quarters with an average positive surprise of 6.2%.

Revenues Higher Than Expected

IHS Markit recorded revenues of $1 billion which beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $969 million. Revenues compared favorably with the year-ago figure of $904.7 million.

Key Stats to Note:  IHS Markit raised its fiscal 2018 guidance.  Revenues are now expected in the range of $4.000 billion to $4.020 billion, including organic growth of 6%.  Previously, revenues were anticipated in the $3.85-$3.90 billion band, including organic growth of 5-6%.

Adjusted EBITDA is envisioned in the range of $1.550 billion to $1.560 billion compared with the previous guidance of $1.500-$1.525 billion. Adjusted EPS is expected in the range of $2.25 to $2.27, compared with the earlier guidance of $2.23-$2.27.
