Style Scores:

The Style Scores are a complementary set of indicators to use alongside the Zacks Rank. It allows the user to better focus on the stocks that are the best fit for his or her personal trading style.

The scores are based on the trading styles of Value, Growth, and Momentum. There's also a VGM Score ('V' for Value, 'G' for Growth and 'M' for Momentum), which combines the weighted average of the individual style scores into one score.

Value Score A
Growth Score A
Momentum Score A
VGM Score A

Within each Score, stocks are graded into five groups: A, B, C, D and F. As you might remember from your school days, an A, is better than a B; a B is better than a C; a C is better than a D; and a D is better than an F.

As an investor, you want to buy stocks with the highest probability of success. That means you want to buy stocks with a Zacks Rank #1 or #2, Strong Buy or Buy, which also has a Score of an A or a B in your personal trading style.

Industry Rank:

The Zacks Industry Rank assigns a rating to each of the 265 X (Expanded) Industries based on their average Zacks Rank.

An industry with a larger percentage of Zacks Rank #1's and #2's will have a better average Zacks Rank than one with a larger percentage of Zacks Rank #4's and #5's.

The industry with the best average Zacks Rank would be considered the top industry (1 out of 265), which would place it in the top 1% of Zacks Ranked Industries. The industry with the worst average Zacks Rank (265 out of 265) would place in the bottom 1%.

Top Ranked Momentum Stocks to Buy for July 30th

Here are three stocks with buy rank and strong momentum characteristics for investors to consider today, July 30th:

Curtiss-Wright (CW) Beats on Q2 Earnings, Lifts '18 Guidance

Higher operating income, lower interest expense and a lower tax rate primarily drove Curtis-Wright's (CW) Q2 earnings growth on a year-over-year basis.

Will Steady Contract Wins Drive Raytheon (RTN) Q2 Earnings?

Buoyed by solid sales expectations for majority of its segments, the Zacks Consensus Estimate for Raytheon's (RTN) second-quarter sales represents an annual improvement of 3.5%.

Will Dismal Defense Deliveries Mar Boeing's (BA) Q2 Earnings?

Boeing's (BA) Defense, Space & Security segment continues to witness solid orders for its varied product offerings from both Pentagon as well as international allies of the United States

Is FLIR Systems (FLIR) Poised to Beat Q2 Earnings Estimates?

FLIR Systems (FLIR) has outperformed the Zacks Consensus Estimate in each of the trailing four quarters, with an average beat of 6.49%.

Northrop Grumman (NOC) Q2 Earnings: What's in the Cards?

Northrop Grumman (NOC) has been witnessing strong growth in order flow, which is likely to boost its second-quarter revenues.

Will Lower 777 & 747 Deliveries Hit Boeing (BA) Q2 Earnings?

Significant decline in 777 and 747 deliveries bear every possibility of outweighing the 11.4% improvement in 737 deliveries and might hurt Boeing's (BA) commercial jets' revenues in the second quarter.

Will Solid Order Flow Aid Lockheed Martin (LMT) Q2 Earnings?

Lockheed Martin (LMT) expects to deliver higher earnings in 2018, buoyed by lower tax rate and increased sales outlook.

Will Order Growth Fuel General Dynamics' (GD) Q2 Earnings?

General Dynamics' (GD) Aerospace business segment has not been performing very well lately. This downtrend is likely to continue until the company starts delivery of new G500 jets in the second half of 2018.

Will Commercial Deliveries Drive Boeing's (BA) Q2 Earnings?

Boeing's (BA) defense shipments declined 64.4% from the year-ago figure

Will Product Innovations Fuel Textron's (TXT) Q2 Earnings?

The recent rebound observed in Textron's (TXT) Bell segment's revenues may not continue in the to-be-reported quarter.
